LOC Spring Derby

Post by Trouttracker »

Was wondering if any of you guys will be fishing in the spring derby this year? I myself will be fishing out of Sodus Bay for the week. After and few runs out of Westport to make sure everything is functioning properly I eagerly await the return of the spring derby after covid messed up last years spring event. Let me know if you’ll be in the area would enjoy having someone to compare notes with during the derby.

Good luck

Please let us know how you make out. I have heard of some 15lb+ Atlantic salmon being caught this spring.... that is very interesting to me... so maybe a trip west is due...

Well we fished hard all week less 2 days the north wind decided to blow, 6-7 footers  managed a small steely and this 19lb bruiser. Although it didn’t make the weigh in we got some nice slabs off her. We had a friend fish out of Mexico Bay who did find a couple of Atlantic’s nothing in the aforementioned weight class though. We’ll be back up on Champlain soon and if you see us say hey!!
