Post by digitroll (ron) »

We couldn't get out this afternoon after quitting at noon today. So I spent a little time editing this am's action. Finished 3/4 on day 1 of 3 days here returning Friday off the Salmon River.

Thanks Gerry! We had a short trip out this morning from 6 am - 9 am. Left an incredible bite on flat water landing all three triples and finishing again 7 for 9! Fathead was nearby slamming them for his first day on the pond. We’re 2/3’s home now past Malone now at 1:15 pm. Some more great video shot with my Go Pro 8 to summarize today’s 3 hr trip to post tomorrow.

Arrived home at 4:00 pm after a great 3 days fishing. We ended up fishing 17 hours and landing 17 salmon on 23 bites. We set our Dubro releases extra tight resulting in a high land ratio. On of the fish I lost I failed to close the snap on the fly behind the flasher. My bad / Another was 10 feet from the net. Best fly combo was an old school Mtn. Dew Pro Troll and a Blue Hammer Fly. It was a blood bath out there yesterday early. We were thrilled to get on the water each day at 5:30 am with calm seas which this year was rare the last 7 weeks. Looking back over 40 years one of the bench marks is if you can land one salmon per hour over 3-5 days on a trip that is some pretty darn good action! With our trip to the Oak in July and the Salmon river this week we were blessed with calm water and great fishing as we close out 2020 for our 2 trips out there with a salmon an hour average. Next May 2021 the LOC derby trip at the Bar in mid-May!

Triples on and landing all three the last day:
