lake o 1/31and2/1

Post by finsntins »

so we started at the big river in port Ontario looking for an open launch and 4 hours and about 60 miles later, we finally found one about 10 miles west of sodus!!!!!!but it wound up being well worth the trip.we finally got fishing around 130 and by 330 we were somewhere around 15/25 with many fish lost due too doubles and a few triples.packed it in and found a motel to spend the night.got out today and pretty much the same thing as yesterday, took us about an hour just to get 4 rods in the water, fished for about 2 hours and packed it in to head back home.so about 4 hours or so of fishing over two days,we had around 50 bites and boated somewhere around half of them.all browns,1 steelhead, and 1 laker.

Hey Reelax, something to consider since Champlain is not cooperative.

HUGHES MARINA:

My home port from 1983 to 2005, when I lived in Webster, NY. Bring your HONEYBEEs. Never pulled anything else, seldom out-fished on the browns. Nuclear plant pushes warm water east past Hughes. Big Browns through July and plenty of Kings not far off shore especially with an early summer Strong South Wind blowing the warm water off shore.

On average, the browns in these pictures are bigger than the ones that we caught. Obviously, the great King fishing the last few years has allowed a lot of browns to be undisturbed and allowed to get bigger. One of the few times I've missed NY so much! :D
