Need a new engine for the Country Angler

Post by Detritus »

Hi guys, took the boat out this morning with the boys, made it a few hundred yards, main engine is blown. So, if anybody knows where I can get a used 175HP or 150HP outboard, let me know.

Thanks,

Jack

I haven't investigated it too deeply, but, it's an engine internal problem. My guess is a broken wrist pin or rod, but it's bad. Reminded me of the videos of dealership mechanics draining the oil and replacing it with sand to intentionally destroy the cash for clunkers cars years ago. Plus, I've gone through everything else on that motor.

Yeah, it's a real bummer for us. But, everybody knows it's bound to happen to all force outboards I guess. I was hoping to get more than a spring season out of it, but what can you do.

This one needs a stator but it's cheap power:
