It’s still on
Couldn’t get out for the derby this weekend but I fished North of Northwest Bay today in conditions ranging from heavy wind to pouring rain, near calm and then heavy wind again, but I had the whole bay to myself and in two hours I got one nice silver for the box, a handful of shakers and a few knock offs. No Lakers. Lots of bait and fish on the screen.
I followed A big fat Loon around which always resulted in a good screen and a hit or two. Crazy temperature, 46° at 40 feet. Everything I put out took fish, mostly crazy Ivan’s and warrior spoons.- Reelax

Wow that temp is crazy. I fished Saturday morning out of Westport, dropped the Fishhawk down and did not hit 49 until 120 feet down. Pretty consistent in the two or three spots I checked. Mostly washed lures in the few hours I tried. I made the mistake of not changing my line out to 30 pound and the fleas gummed up my reels in 15 minutes.

I upped my main line size and had no flea issues at all, though I also dragged a stick around on 15 pound mono and that had no fleas either.

I hope to be out again there on Saturday Matt, I was thinking of fishing Ontario but the reports have been dismal at best
Re: It’s still on
When I left early Saturday Afternoon it was really starting to blow pretty good. May be that wind turned the water over some and knocked the fleas down too. Or I was just in the wrong spot.
