Sunday salmon “chaos”
Headed for Champlain at 3am Sunday morning with a four man crew and chaos is in tow, we decided to launch out of the otter and head out to work the waters between diamond and the mansion. After setting up we picked away at a few small lakers, nothing to write home about so we decided to flip a coin , either head south to fishville or north to converse north it was! After a short run we set back up and started picking away at some 5-8lb lakers. On the second pass I started turning and Jamie and Alan start yelling... John there’s a big Fish jumping way behind the boat! I turn to look and there’s a 6lb class silver dancing across the lake!! Jamie grabbed the rod and it was on! Back and forth that Fish leaped for the sky, pretty impressive fight, after a five minute battle and several explosive runs we had him in the net! After a measure we noticed a piece of what I tht was braided fishing line sticking out of his belly. Didn’t think much about it,
And two steelhead! one steelie was only 13” long so we released it but the poor guy had a hole thru the top of his skull down thru his eye and it looked pretty bad, I would guess a sharpe bill maybe? Anyways we ended the day trolling back to the otter and picked up one more nice salmon before leaving, the hot spoons were both crazy Ivan’s fantom , blue moon and SGMS,
Also once I got home and started cleaning the fish I found this in our big salmon, pretty cool

Looks like you got plenty of nice catches.
That's a transmitter wire hanging out that fish. Too bad he did not survive.

Wow great showing!!! Sounds like it was a busy trip. After interfacing with Thorny and Popster sounds like it is one of Bills tags/transmitters from either the Boquet or the Winooski... can’t wait to hear the whole story.. I don’t know if he ever recovered one.
Can’t wait till this weekend with 3 solid days Aboard Caos... Fish on!

Re: Sunday salmon “chaos”
It’s gonna be epic, all I can say is there is a large health population of salmon and do they love to chase lures that are not going in one direction for very long, I did not hit my LCI spot Sunday but will be on recon detail with “Wolverine”aka “right hand man”aka “river rat”Friday afternoon!
And we’re gonna cover some grounds. On a side note we had a Port double fire one laker on bottom line one on cheater, and starboard fire one on bottom one on cheater, two lakers two salmon, damn good time, I do apologize I’m not very good at writing
