Sunny Saturday on a cold lake..
Fished beside Controlled Caos and NHJIM today out of converse.. we really need some rain. The lake is low and the salmon bite needs some flow!!!
Great to see Controlled Caos putting a 8lb+ hog in the boat on the 1st pass before we even finished setting the spread.
Video of the big one of the day for us..

Hot dogs and bacon wrapped scallops shared with DA and lightandvariable..
Thanks for the fun time guys!

Westport is ice free but according to the data the lake is low, more than a foot below average for this date. I don’t like rain but we need it.

Awesome Fish! What was the actual measurements on that Silver? Someone was saying that it might be bigger than 8 lbs. It definitely looked like it from the Camera view. Also, those scallops........ You Boy's sure do this thing Right! Great post and great to see Salmon being caught!Reelax wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 11:11 pm Fished beside Controlled Caos and NHJIM today out of converse.. we really need some rain. That was a ton of fun Saturday, great to be out on the pond. Slow fishing, but we got Silver and that's the goal. Only 24 inches on that fish, but a beauty

.. and it looks like it was snagged, so probably not an "official" catch! But just piling on! Big one's a REALLY good one! Nice to see some big fish still around!

Re: Sunny Saturday on a cold lake..
That's one fish better than I did yesterday, Chaos! My maiden voyage yesterday afternoon resulted in the big skunk. At least everything ran good and I got to fish with a friend I hadn't seen in a while on a beautiful day. We started in the warmer waters of Town Farm, then over to the NY side from Split Rock south to almost Diamond Island, back north around Split into Whallon's, a couple of passes there and back south on the NY side, ran across to the mansion and trolled back up the VT side to Thompsons Pt. Plenty of miles put on ... no fish. We had venison and goose snack sticks and a bag of chips.
Re: Sunny Saturday on a cold lake..
My hats off to the Reelax crew and the Controlled Chaos crew for finding salmon. I ventured out with a friend on Sunday and we couldn't find silver anywhere. We did manage to catch two Lakers, but it was a beautiful day to be on Lake Champlain. Water temperatures ran from 32.4° to 36.4°. I couldn't find any bait to work. We were the third boat to launch out of Converse Bay. The first two opened a channel through the ice and we followed the channel out. It will only get better from here!! What do you think, is March the toughest bite for Salmon?
