Still catching monsters on the broad lake..

Post by Reelax »

Last couple weeks have been somewhat uneventful. While catching plenty if fish and having fun trips we have failed to find a really notable fish.... Finally on Monday while fishin with DA and DreamCatcher we had a solid release that almost spooled us on the 1st run......

Long story short . We hit the south lake at 1st light and motored to our tgt area just to
Find I made a bad hunch and we were relocating by 720am after an hr if Nothing in very warm water.

We found 70’deg water all the way to 90 in many areas with small pockets of 56 deg up to 60 ft but hey were Small and hard to stay on... while we we’re BBQing some marinated venison blackstrap Ken grabbed a rod off a rigger that went on a serious 1st run.... in 240 fow we knew it wasn’t bottom and from the head shakes we knew it wasn’t a mammoth Matt of weeds we been dodging all morning. After Ken had it whipped and we started making line we started rolling video... will post a raw version here if I can..

Had a great time, as I don’t fish for numbers of fish, just notable ones that are memorable... and this did the job!!! Thanks guys!!!

Oh... menu ended with some dinosaur chicken fingers that were treated with sweet baby rays bbq sauce and some Franks red hot... can’t beat simplicity!

Till next time... fish on!

Awesome fish! Thanks for the report, I was wondering what the Reelax crew had been up to! Plus I was missing reading about all the good food you guys make out on the water!
