Steel
Headed down to Otter creek Saturday night to spend the night in the new boat. Decided to go out trolling for for an hours or so before we docked up for the evening. Set up trolling south through the narrows with a 4 pole spread from 55’-70’. After about a half hour my rod at 55’ popped and was just a heavy pull when I handed the rod to my girlfriend. Then the fish decided to scream the drag taking many runs. With no jump I was thinking a big salmon but much to my surprise it was a monster steelhead. The number one fish on her bucket list! The fish decided to go nuts at the boat. I was expecting it to throw the hook after a couple missed attempts. But be managed to get this beauty in the boat. 27” and super fat!! Had a massive lamprey on it. It was as big around as a half dollar. Biggest lamprey I have had in the boat all season. After a quick chop off of the lampreys head it took a trip over the side to be seagull bait. Made for an amazing evening!!

That’s awesome! I lost a big steelhead early this spring down there, ever since then I’ve been hooked on trying to land more! Great work!
