19lb plus Laker on Champlain

A fellow worker showed me a picture this morning of what was said to be a 19 plus lb Laker caught over this weekend. Anybody else heard this? sleeps

Anyone know if this is in fact a new Lake Champlain record???

I don't know that "lake" records are kept. The Vermont state record lake trout is north of 35 lbs. I think this fish beats any LCI entry, as they keep Father Day Tournament records. It's a beast. But I'm left wondering why we aren't getting bigger fish.

All fish officially entered in the state record program are kept in the database here: https://anrweb.vt.gov/FWD/FW/VermontFishRecords.aspx

It looks like the biggest previously entered Champlain laker was an 18-pound, 15-ounce fish caught in 2010.

There have been 68 lakers over 20 pounds submitted in Vermont from various other lakes, with the majority coming from Willoughby.
