Somewhere around the mouth of the Otter, we found the source from where they release all the bait in the Lake.

Annually on Cayuga Lake this was the height of the alewife spawning period! It would end by July 4th.
At night (bright moon), we would use dipnets off the boat to catch as many as we could (a dozen or so would chase each other in a frenzy in a spawning circle). We would then freeze them in blocks (plastic containers of water) for all summer use with cowbell flashers. Maybe the spawning activity is occuring at your site above.

Saw what looked similar on my Garmin on Saturday in Shelburne bay in several locations, 30-50 foot depth & thought it was large boulders...
