Not a bad first day

Post by pfu »

Maiden voyage of 2020. Filled gas tank for $110 (never in twenty years with this boat had that happened!) and launched out of Malletts Bay around 8:45am. Fished east side of Stave with eight other boats. 55 minutes in we get small laker at 25’. Nothing in next 45 minutes but saw others catching fish but long time reeling in. Decided to go deeper. Dropped to 55 and got nice fish then another. Continued going deeper with success at 75-85’. Ended up 6 lakers in the boat (all released successfully) out of 11 releases. Go to colors for us were black with orange.

Surprised on lack of radio chatter.

Thanks for the info. Radio chatter on Champlain is an oxymoron! Ain't gonna happen!
