Great first trip out

Post by kman05446 »

Stepson & I finally got the boat ready. We went out late morning on 5/6. Launched at Malletts bay. Headed over to the Colchester Fill. Made one pass with no releases. So, I decided to keep trolling south towards the mouth of Winooski River. Action really picked up. Fished 13' - 23' of water. WT 50 degrees. Went 11 for 13. All lake trout. Boards and riggers hit equally. Riggers were set at 7' & 10' down, back 30' - 50'. brw trout stick bait on brds & copper/orange spoons. Awesome day!

Nice job, Kevin! I was headed to the Lamoille Wednesday afternoon and saw that your boat was gone. Glad you guys got out and found plenty of hungry fish.

Nice pic. Water seems calm. Glad the lakers were cooperative.

Any luck Crayfish? I'm assuming you were after walleye. The lake was calm. Hope to get out again mid week.

I caught 2 walleye on opening day in the Lamoille and that's been it for me. Nothing in the last 2 attempts. Thursday I'm going to head out to Colchester Point where you found these lakers and give that a shot. Good luck!
