Anybody ever caught a fish in the middle of class?

Post by Detritus »

Hey, so this was a new one for me, thought I'd share the story. Liam had a video conference call with his 5th grade class today at 2:00, but we also wanted to go fishing. So I set up a mobile hot-spot on my phone, and told him to grab his chrome book. We got out there after lunch, and we're set up and trolling at 1:55. About 2:05, a rigger goes off, and I'm like "Hey Liam!" And he comes running up on deck, and I put the teacher on the dash facing the cockpit. Anybody who was paying attention to Liam's window for the next few minutes, got to see him land this.

I heard someone yell out of the chrome book "Liam got a fish!"

So the question is, does this make me a good dad? Or a bad dad?

Jack

By the way, purple challenger jointed rapala type boated 2 fish today, and another release. 5 feet down, 120 back, where the river empties into the lake. Nothing else we tried even had a hit.

Outstanding! The remote meetings via Zoom have so many disadvantages, that it seems we should be obliged to take advantage of its main advantage. That is: remoteness.

Yes, you know me ! You've figured out my secret identity :D

Good to see you're doing well in the new boat and catching fish with the boys. Great story !

And I owe you a thanks for the pointers on using lead core you gave me last spring, its helped and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Some day when this virus outbreak is behind us it would be great to get together with the kids for some more fishing.

Thanks Matt, I thought you'd like that one.

Dilly, we did that little canoe trip a couple years ago, but we never made it out on Detritus with the girls last year did we? I agree, when this stuff has all blown over, we got to get out there.

We've been able to do a lot of fishing because of this virus, and it looks like we'll be doing a lot more this spring because if it. However, a big part of the fun with these boats is the kids fishing with their friends, which we can't do right now. I've about had it with covid 19, but, Vermont as a state I've heard is doing a great job with it compared to the rest of the country. We've got to keep it up.

Jack - no, we never made it out on Detritus with the girls last year, too many other things going on... would be good to get them out when this virus is behind us. Another thing to look forward to when things are back to normal !
