I have seen this video a couple time and was wondering has anyone else tried trolling with live minnows. I think it’s a unique way to try! Around the 20 minute mark they talk about the minnow but the whole video is a great watch.

I have a buddy that has had good sucsess with live bait behind a small flasher on Dunmore and lake George , I have never tried it . we will give it whirl in the next few weeks , hopefully my boat will be out next week

We tried in Bullwagga once, what a mistake. Way to many boats in there to go that slow. Thought we might get run over. Kinda came to the realization that the fish in Champ are way more aggressive than winni fish. May try again in the future just because bait fishing is alot of fun. Good luck!

We used to troll dead smelt in Maine. Used a special rig that had a plastic collar that you could slide to adjust a curl in the tail where one of the hooks went. This would create a nice slow spin, depending on how much bend you put in the tail. Worked good.

Dead saw bellies (alwives) trolled on lead in the NY reservoirs catch HUGE Browns - look at the pictures on the wall of Als bait shop at the outlet of the Pepacton Reservoir.
