crucian carp

Anybody heard of crucian carp?

I watched a bunch of kids catch three of these 15 inches long or so on Isle La Motte this weekend. I can't find anything about them on Lake Champlain species pages.

Are you sure they werent catching Rudd? similar looking

Well that makes a little more sense. Rudd are listed in the Vt fish and game book under "cull" fish. They the golden ones look just like the ones the kids caught. Thanks for the info.
