Too hot to work

Post by Fishawk »

Quit work early hooked up the boat and went to willsboro launch solo. After a swim had lines wet by 17:00, took a hour for me to find the right combination (big blue and silver hammered stinger at 42’ over 95’ and 80’ back at 2.4) and had drag running. Never surfaced until i had a nice 23” 4.49 lb salmon in the net. Unfortunately it got so tied up in the net it wouldn’t have been releasable by the time I get it untangled, on the grill now. Only one lamprey mark on the fish, from the 14”Er that was attached when netted. Water fleas were worst I’ve ever run into today.

That sounds like a great trip with a nice one for the for the grill... thanks for sharing Fishawk!!!

Are you using 30lb mono to help with the fleas? if not, it sure helps....
