Re: launch site updates
Spent a good part of today visiting the lake around port Henry, visited norm's to see what was going on , found part of the lake open around the bridge with the launch open and clear around the bridge ,ice still visible in the bay and port Henry,my advise is to stay away until all is clear, wind was blowing from the south one hour later blew from the west closing access to the bridge and any access.

Re: launch site updates
My mistake. Outer Malllets Bay not open. The very dark shadowing yesterday during the high wind event made the out bay look to be open. Not the case, pretty solidly locked in this morning.....
Re: launch site updates
thanks for the updates everyone much appreciated by those of us that live along way off.

Re: launch site updates
Is the dock in at the bridge?
Re: launch site updates
If anyone makes it around to the accesses converse to the bridge today and can give updates it would be awesome. Specifically Converse, Ft Cassin, and Lewis Creek. I know the river ones are open, but not sure if the lake out front of them is, and if water levels and flows are conducive to launching.

Perch Bait and I will be launching from the mouth of the Winooski tomorrow. Can't wait to get back in the boat! There won't be any high speed runs or anything, as I'm sure the lake has a lot of junk in it. Hopefully the fish are ready to play.

Re: launch site updates
You shouldnt be alone. I m looking at either winooski or port douglas depending on wich side of the lake i end up fishing.
Re: launch site updates
I wish the weather service weren't being useless and would get their wave forecast back up. I asked a week ago and they said the lake was still ice covered. Sent them sat photos showing it not, and they replied that it was ice covered. The point forecast also requires their intervention to tell it the lake is thawed in places, but they cant seem to be bothered to update that to ensure we can all get a forecast that is accurate and safe. Be careful tomorrow out on the broad lake. Wind looks iffy.

At 2:45, went to launch under bridge found 4 feet + of ice pushed up and now heading to Arnold’s bay, we’ll let you know later if our findings.
