I would place a wager that Port Douglas is open and that would involve a Grand Isle Ferry round trip of $50 with boat plus extra time on the road to get there. Deep freeze coming up for 4-5 days later this week.

I am waiting till mid-March. :) 6-8 weeks or so. Days are getting longer. 12-22 my boat was winterized with about a 3 month rest. First month is out of the way. I won't drag my boat + trailer over wet or frozen salted roads.

Hi guys,

Lake Sebago is still open over near me, but, no one over here is excited about Frostbite Fishing s we were before I moved from VT to ME. Randy, you take the prize however for being Mr. Frostbite!

Call me crazy, but I am really hoping for a broad lake freeze this year! Now that I am really into ice fishing, I have been waiting for a year where it freezes, last time was 2015, and I was not nearly as interested in cold water fish as I am now... stuck mainly to pike back then, but the itch to jig a champ laker, and hand fight a screaming salmon has hit me strong!!! Bring on the ice!

My guess is that even if we could launch that we'd be fighting ice floes. February (tomorrow) isn't typically good for launching or fishing unless we have relatively mild weather throughout the Frostbite Season. Does anyone remember that last extended run of mild weather?

Oh, by the way - I just came back from Cabo and there's no way I'm ready to launch onto LC!
