Winter ice fish trip
Hey folks looking for a shoreline weekend retreat to fish northerns and or Lakers . The guys like a set up that would allow a set up and watch from the window i know, pretty lazy, but these guys prefer comfort over the cold we’ve done holiday harbor and the cozy cottage at the gut. Where else can they go ? Will trade venison for info Hah!
Re: Winter ice fish trip
try arnold bay or the mouth of otter creek.
Re: Winter ice fish trip
Are they like sit in the truck fishing? Or are they sit in a camp? I don't know the answer to camp, but Church road in Swanton is the answer if its sit in the truck, or if they wait till there is enough ice, drive from the swanton bridge north on the ice to Donaldson Point.
For lakers maybe try some of the NEK lakes? you can get to 200ft of water on willoughby and watch from the side of the road.

No these are camp guys. That’s why holiday harbor and cozy work so well. Setup the tips and wait in comfort is their M O.

Re: Winter ice fish trip
We used to have more fun in a camp in Aroostick County where we could see the traps( Maine speak) from the dining table. Whiskey, cards, and salmon was too much fun. The wardens thought so too when they wrote tickets for not being in immediate proximity of our tip-ups. Looking back it was worth the price. At 25 below, we would cut cards to see who had to go get the flag.

Yup Tx,, but looking for champlain locations.
Re: Winter ice fish trip
Contact Gilbert at Martin's General Store up near Tyler place - Highgate for northern action. He has shanty rentals and campers etc...
Re: Winter ice fish trip
AirBnB would also be a good place to look, lots of places around on there. you can search lake champlain and it will give waterfront properties lake wide, grab map view and drill down to the places of interest.
