November reflections

Post by digitroll (ron) »

Been a bit challenging with the weather for November ending yesterday. Made it out 3-4 times counting the Shoot Out. Had some last minute cancellations due to weather and wind. 10 day is looking more of the same with cold lows and unseasonable highs for the day below normal with snow and rain.. Hoping for a break with some calm seas and dry roads after the 10 day looking forward. Water temps are now down to near normal at 45F. We started the month with very warm surface water and that lasted 2-3 weeks before dropping below 49F recently. Dry roads and a snow + ice free ramp and the hill approach are a must for me plus that round trip to Converse 40 minutes each way. Worst case April is 4 months away!

Could be some milder weather after the 10th of December Jason!. Normally get some breaks with calm water and above 32F! Just saw Draggn Balls on the Inland Sea this am on Facebook. Hope is to get out another 2-3 times with dry roads and calm / mild temps.

Hopefully we are just getting started and if we don’t have a ice over season we can fish right thru till April. I know it is hard on the trailer lights as mine are a challenge to keep working 100%. By spring seems like they need attention every year

Miner issue to trade for the chance to locate a bird tornado again!

Fish on!

Do you have LED lights on your trailer?

Yes Andre I am on my second set if LED lights now. Dealer claimed having 1 LED out of the array of 18 makes them not inspectable in VT. Sounds like over kill to me. For me, issue is corrosion over time from salt at the connection points where the plugs go into the lights. Probably some grease you would use on battery terminals spread all over read joints may help… that idea just occurred to me as I was typing. Thanks for the idea!

Don't remind me!

I had a clean record until that time back in 2003. Towing my boat to Mallet's Bay. I'm like a common criminal with a record that will be with me for the rest of my life and all because I forgot to get the boat trailer inspected.

I should ask Governor Scott to pardon me and expunge my record.
