Good luck rotary fisherman! Let us know how you do!

Post by Reelax »

Best of luck to all the lucky folks who get to go out and chase fish for the next 3 days. For some, we
have to work and would LOVE to hear the stories and see the pictures...

Please feel free to post any Rotary derby fishing adventures or pictures here...

Fish on!

Silvers were hard to find first thing Friday. We had a couple right off then a big storm came through a little south of us and scattered them.
Lakers on the other hand were raining from the sky. We weren’t bored that’s for sure. Salmon and bait reappeared around 4 pm and we finished with some solid salmon action.
Fish were from 33 to 10 feet down. If you put a spoon down and it didn’t come up with a laker on it it must not of had a hook on it.
Good luck out there

Day two was just as challenging as day one, 5 salmon and use bug repellent to keep the lakers away. We did manage three lakers over 9lbs, and one 10.4. All 85 feet down.
We got caught in the storm and had a very exciting ride back to the bridge. Hope everyone got off safe.

Todd, thanks for the report. Nice to see that you’re on some salmon. More importantly that you got in safely. We had quite a blow yesterday and I hope all others were safe too. Goes to show the importance of being aware of the weather situation as it can change rapidly. Good luck out there today.

Lake trout hell by me as well. But they do have some fight in them and when you get a seven pounder on the main line and another one that’s close to six on the cheater at the same time, at least they pull some drag and make it exciting.

I'd say that there aren't a lot of people that can claim to have done that before (that big of a double)... myself included
