Is it Over?

Post by ChessieMan »

Is it over? It might take me a week to dig the Money Pit out of the 28" of snow Mother Nature dropped on us

Image

Could be a merciful end to a pretty poor year - OR, a message to try harder!?

Is the Port Henry ramp plowed out?

Oh, man. That's brutal. I'd sure like a repeat of last December.

launched there yesterday was fine as fishy said few inches of snow but in good shape. ran north and tried a spring program trying to find salmon instead of all lake trout as thats all we had been able to find our last 2 trips during thanksgiving week. ran boards with weight rods and lead off boards right up tight to shore out to 50-60' and struckout. changed to riggers, lead and a slide diver and still was mostly a lake trout day managed 1 salmon down 55 on a rigger and couldnt reproduce. alot of bait out in deeper water as usual starting about 50' down. gave it an honest effort from daylight till 3:00 just wasent our day. in years past fishing 25-65' down this time of year has worked for us for browns and salmon but not this year. anyone else have anything. the fleet seems to be missing this year radio silence and no boats. good luck out there. jim

Sorry the fish would not cooperate.
As you mentioned, we don't see much posting lately, I guess due to hunting instead.
For those lucky enough to still have their boats out, please let us know how you're doing. We miss you.
