LCWA

I was wondering if anyone would know what happened to the Lake Champlain walleye association. The web site doesn’t seem to be working...?

Lack of supporters? Funding?

Their Facebook page is not very active so you aren't missing much.

If anyone would like to see an archived version of their old website for reference click here:

Yeah I’m not an avid Facebook follower and I realize that this doesn’t seem to be in action too much.

Funny how this year is one the best in years. Partly because of the late spring but also maybe because some of the work / message that was put into place. Hard to say...

LCWA is still doing good work with VTF&W. I have spoke with both recently and they are excited about the progress that is being made with some new tanks rearing great numbers to be stocked. Good enough other states are comeing here to learn this process. Not shure about an online presence though. Ramel

Thanks for the reply JabberJaws. Nice to know that they are still active and supporting the stocking. I wish I could get involved having « more » time now days. I thought they were easier to get with t a site. Will see what I can find.

See if you can get hold of Bob Samson (LCWA president) or his brother (can't remember his name). They have walleye rearing pens near the lake in the St.Albans Bay area. I've talked to them before and they said that walleye are difficult to grow in captivity because as soon as they get to about 3" in length they start to eat each other! This means they have to be stocked as very small fingerlings so the success rate is fairly low.

Glad to have the LCWA doing what they can to improve our walleye fishery!
