With the version 7.2 you are getting course up by taping you're gps icon 3 times. With the Vexilar T200 and T300 you're Ipad or Iphone becomes a sonar-gps

I have been a navionics fan for years..... The best part of navionics it that you can download it to any iPhone or iPad for what seems to me... Penny's. Don't let you wife throw away her old iPhone, they make the best hand held units. Because of the 911 feature the phone allways stays active, just down load the navionics program and away you go.. No need to have a cell plan or even a phone number on the unit.
I have used my iPad (10in screen) on my boat with navionics for 5 years. At the time the app. Was only 14.99 and the i pad was 700.00. I still use this unit and that program every time I hit the water and the updates are free forever. the program is exstreamly accurate and I use it up and down the east coast all the way to my favorite Florida Red Fish holes.
Go NAVIONICS
Todd
Thats some good advice!!! Thanks

Navionics Boating for iPhone and iPad, version 7.2, includes a powerful new fishfinder feature that allows you to view sonar and Navionics charts, both full screen and split screen, within the same app. Simply connect wirelessly with SonarPhone hardware, and the app automatically displays the live data. This incredibly useful feature is possible due to a new partnership between Navionics and longtime innovators of sonar technology, Vexilar, Inc.

The easy-to-use fishfinder works with the SonarPhone T-Box setup, which includes a transducer and Wi-Fi transmitter that can easily be installed on any vessel. Boaters who are looking for a handy and inexpensive supplement to their current onboard systems also benefit from wireless access anywhere on the boat. And SonarPhone offers a convenient, affordable way to monitor sonar and position on smaller boats which might not normally have traditional chartplotter equipment onboard.

Depth data obtained every time you connect with SonarPhone allows Navionics to enhance SonarCharts™ anywhere you go, including creeks, rivers and inlets where smaller vessels can easily access. Updated charts are available to you and the whole Navionics Community after about one week for any compatible device including mobile, plotter and web.

Garmin plotter and handheld compatibility announced!
27 February 2015

Navionics has released a new SonarCharts™ chart card for use with several Garmin GPS plotters and handhelds.

Featuring extraordinary bottom contour detail of up to 1 foot in the US and Canada, the new version of SonarCharts HD bathymetry map for use in several Garmin plotters offers the most detail available anywhere, and is great for increasing awareness of shallow waters and locating fishing areas at any depth level. The SonarCharts card also includes navigational aids to ensure a complete resource for any boating activity.

“For the first time, Garmin owners can enjoy the benefits of our innovative, award-winning SonarCharts cartography.” said Don Black, senior vice president of global sales and marketing, Navionics. “For a very modest investment, boaters can benefit from innovative, award-winning SonarCharts, the most up-to-date cartography available, without having to abandon the familiar look and feel of their current equipment.”

Not only can Garmin customers use SonarCharts on their plotters, they can record sonar logs and upload them to Navionics to improve their local charts while also benefiting from the entire boating community’s contributions. SonarCharts harnesses the power of the Navionics Community by accepting sonar logs from a wide range of plotters and mobile devices to ensure charts are up to date and accurate. Uploaded sonar logs from all users are integrated with existing data to generate new SonarCharts every day. Garmin sonar recordings take about one week to be integrated by Navionics and made available for download with SonarCharts. Updated SonarCharts can be downloaded anytime, free for one year with the Freshest Data Service.

SonarCharts is available on mobile and PC too! Boaters simply download Navionics Boating for free on the Apple iPhone or iPad, or compatible Android devices, from iTunes and Google Play and then purchase charts for their region. SonarCharts is included. Charts can also be viewed online using the free Navionics WebApp which allows visitors to tap the SonarCharts icon to see the same detail available for Garmin GPS chartplotters.

The new SonarCharts HD bathymetry map for Garmin plotters card is currently available for regions within the US and Canada at $149, with other regions of the world planned for release progressively throughout 2015. Marine and lakes data are included on the same 4 GB MSD card, which offers a great advantage for people who enjoy boating on both coastal and inland waters.

Verify that your plotter is compatible with this product here, which is continuously updated.
