FrostBite Time

Post by Gecha (Gerry) »

What's happening? I thought spring arrived 3 weeks ago?
I was all geared up... spooling new lines and shinning my lures, scheduling to get the boat out of hibernation soon.... that won't happen :(

Don't even want to go out anymore. Going back under the blankets. Wake me up after Easter.

Good info Relax, thanks. I did make it out Sunday for a few hours. It was 28 degrees when I left the house for the 2 hour drive. When I got to the launch on the Winooski river, the motor wouldn't start. Frozen gas line. It took a couple of hours before it thawed out enough to start. I guess I didn't run the motor long enough to get the sea foam in the lines before putting up the boat. But we finally got out and managed to go 1 for 2 with a 3 lb laker in the boat on a pink yo-zuri pin minnow on a planer board. It felt great to be on the water. I might launch out of Converse this weekend if it opens up. The Greenhorn is open for business! Best of luck all.
