Im trying to use the smaller slide divers (approx 2.5 in dia) but i have no idea how far from the boat they are or how deep they are. I know how to adjust them but cant find literature where they should be running depending on speed, line out weight setting. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Slide Diver or Mini Disks? If MIni Disk (and I've had great luck with them), see this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh_e5VTB1x4

Slide Divers are a bit more nuanced. But there are similar videos around.

SO the slide diver will always run a specific depth depending on size of diver. Distance from boat will vary depending weight setting. Correct?

The only way to know exactly where they are running is with a Fishhawk TD. You set your diver out and when everything is setup and in a steady state, clip the Fishhawk TD to your line on the depth setting and let it slide down. Wait a minute or so and crank everything back in. The Fishhawk will tell you it's max depth when it ran into the diver. Keep a log so you know : line out, line lb test, weight setting, speed = depth. Those factors will all determine how deep your diver is going.

Or, keep adjusting it until you get bit and then do the same thing over and over again! That works, too. We do that a lot on Lake Ontario for kings. If you see fish on the fishfinder but you're not getting bit, adjust until you do.

I've also heard of people going to a sandy area that has a fairly gradual drop off (north side of Rt2 by Sandbar, for instance), get all set up and drive into shallower and shallower water until you see that your diver is hitting bottom. Note the water depth and you have SOME idea of how deep it went.

I have done many test with a fish hawk TD with the small Slidddiver. On setting 3 at 100 ft from the boat it will five to about 25 feet at 2.5mph. It also maxes out at about 25 ft regardless how much line you put out. On an inside corner or if you slow down it will dig a little deeper. Hope this helps.
