Port Henry

Trusty and hardy partner, Stan, and I launched in light snow at Port Henry yesterday, 11-21-19. We found the ramp in good shape, though no docks. Proceeding north on the NY side, we occasionally charted bait, with most schools occurring at around 20 feet. Oddly, though we set our downriggers at depths appropriate for the bait we saw, all of our fish hit lures trolled behind planer boards pulling one or two colors of lead core. We launched at the gentlemanly hour of 10:00 and fished until 3:00. Six lakers to 20” landed. We lost a good salmon on a jump. Light snow and drizzle all day. Wind N at around 4. An excellent day.

Whoops, wrong date. 11-20-19 would be correct.

Try longer leads off downrigger if no reactions, 30-50' or pull them in closer with "bling" . MMQB
