Does anyone still troll streamers or flies for Champlain salmon?

A couple years ago I was given several boxes of fishing gear by the wife of a friend. I just finally opened it up and started going through it, and there's a bunch of stuff I can't use since I'm not a troller/downrigger guy for salmonids.

Looks like my friend was a big time fly tier and I found an envelope of salmon streamers with stinger hooks. These are brand new and don't appear to have ever been fished.

35 in total, assortment of patterns and styles. I thought maybe someone here on Champlain would be interested in buying them, if that's still a popular technique. I don't seem to hear about it too often anymore.

How far behind the dodger do you tie the fly? Is there a certain knot that works better than others?

I tie mine between 8 inches and 12 inches.
You want to impart a side to side darting action.

I used to troll dodgers and flies for Kokanee's. The length of the leaders I used depended on the length of the dodger. Leader length was 1 to 1.5 times the length of the dodger. I also used a heavier pound test leader because it was more rigid and gave the flie a better darting action than a lighter thinner line.

Well thats my problem right there... I always tie a leader that is like 18-22 inches, that gives the fly a slight action but not erratic more light and rhythmic. Will shorten and see if that helps.

Keith, you should use a turle knot when tying any drop down eye hook. This allows the line to be straight in line with the shank of the hook. Otherwise the streamer will hang down at a funny angle. Pass the line through the eye, tie a loop, and bring the fly through it, tightening the loop around the head of the fly.
