Little tidbit provided from the Left Vent Clip on this fish from Jud Kratzer biologist we landed and released last Monday on Champlain:

I believe that fin clip tells us that the fish was a Chambers Creek strain steelhead. If it were a right ventral clip it would be a Memphremagog strain steelhead. The fin clip does not tell us the year, but if I had to guess, I would say that fish was stocked as a yearling in 2013-2015.

4 years of fishing Mullett and catching a few decent Steelhead on our lake in the last 4 years it's a different animal to target. The Fish Hawk X4-D gives us a great starting point over deep water. It was really nice to have the portable Fish Hawk X-2 newly released last Fall to bring to Michigan this year.

Ron how is the first week of October or last week of sept to come up to fish those wild rainbows could also take you out for landlocks on cayuga
