Whoa!!! Shit happens when you play with sharp objects! Looks like the barb came right through that one. Break out the booze. You need a sterilizer as well as a numbing agent. No panic....Love the spirit!

They say women have a higher pain tolerance than men which is obviously true.

I would be screaming like a baby! If I didn't pass out.

That's a good old fashioned Hurts Donit ! Did it a couple years ago for the first time. It pays big time to have some good wire cutters or at least pliers to crimp the barb. I didn't and had to do the string and loop thing to pull it back out. Sounds awful but it worked pretty slick. Beats a trip to the ER.

Thought you'd all get a kick out of that! Its all good.

Story is.... I was picking my stuff up and I pull my lines tight and hook to the top of my 40up so my lines isn't kinky next time out. As I pulled my line up, I pulled that one too tight and the hook slipped and was like a bungee backwards. Of course.. My hand was still moving up like I was pulling it and the rest is history! Didn't even feel it until I went to grab hook and felt line catch on something. Then it was the oh *^&$&* moment and felt bit dizzy. I was actually alone when I did it and called my buddy who just recently left to come back and wait for me at the launch in case I passed out. That feeling was quick to pass as I continued to pick up the rest of my gear. Then it was humorous as I realized there was an epic blood trail across the ice back to the launch  As he sat there with his pliers I said "oh hell no your not!". I once got super wicked sick from a minor puncture wound for not treating it properly. So I took myself to get it numbed and yanked. Was awful careful over this weekend putting my stuff away :P

Vermont accupuncture.. You will be at one with yourself now! A helluva way to add scent and flavor to your hooks.
