Fields Bay

Post by Tire Jockey »

Went down around 11:00 today with my buddy Tim.
Set up 20 tip ups first flag did not take long! Spool was cranking out line like crazy! But i guess he decided to spit the bait out! n o one home. oh well.
We ended up catching a bunch of fat lake perch good meal! and a few twisted teas also!

If you don't know where fields bay is......go to red gate boat launch and it's directly across the river from there. We were the first ones on that side this year. You have to cross the river but there is plenty of ice. 5-7 inches on the river. Fish on!
And once we got in the bay there was around 13 inches of ice! Power auger!!!!

Sounds like a great time! I took the kids to Bomo yesterday and brought home the skunk, hope we have better luck next weekend in the Bomo Derby!

I got into a few nice perch myself. Did you get them jigging or on tipups?

All on tipups. We were jigging also but no takers. Bite was pretty slow.
