Malletts Bay Bass and Pike Oct 21

Post by Champlainbaits »

I only fish for 45 mins to an hour now...a lot of work and the early morning isn't as hot as it was due to the sun coming up so late.

Went out with my oldest this morning and the first thing we see when walking down the stairs is a fox running down beach so that was pretty cool. A couple days before we got this photo of a hawk taking a bath in front of our place after scaring the squirrels to death...

So anyway we head out to fish and after about 15 mins I end up getting an ok bass...

and a little while later my son gets a mid 20's inch pike...

Both on gold spinnerbaits.

We also got to watch two falcons (I'm guessing) fly overhead for a bit...I know where they live so I'm gonna try to get some pics of them some day too.

All in all a great way to start the day before work.
For some people it's "one more drink" or "one more bet" for me the lie is "just one more cast" :)

It must be nice to get in even a little fishing before heading in to work. Lucky you!
Thanks for the look!
