Missisquoi Bass

Post by kbm »

Fished the river yesterday and found conditions to be excellent. Water was stained to muddy, river flow was 2 MPH, water temp 64. Apart from fighting the wind and current the fishing was great.

It took awhile to find them; but once I did, the bite was awesome. I caught 16 bass under two different blow downs. I reached my personal best with a 5lb 15oz large mouth. In fact, out of the 16 bass I caught, one was over five, 4 were over four lbs; 8 were over 3lbs 8 oz.

I was pitching purple/black flake Chigger Craws (until I ran out) Ugly Otters, and a jig w/ craw trailer.

Here is a pic of big guy I caught...

I would think that the river would be the only place you could fish yesterday. Your quantity was good and your quality even better. Thanks for the report.

Great day and beautiful largemouth too! Congrats on the personal best. A friend of mine named Scott Martin won a $125,000 tournament two years back throwing a Chigger Craw along with Strike King crankbaits.

Nicely done...you are on to one of my favorite patterns! Love it when they are piled up like that. Thanks for the report.
For some people it's "one more drink" or "one more bet" for me the lie is "just one more cast" :)
