Made the first journey north today to Ticonderoga with my father. Arrived at the launch right around 7:30. There were maybe a dozen rigs in the parking lot. No docks in when we arrived but they had been put in by the time we came back in at 2:30 PM. Weather was 52 degrees and bright blue sky's at shove off with a slight S/SE breeze pushing up the lake. Was very suprised to see that the water was exceptionally clean by Ti standards. Water temperature at the ramp was 58.5.

After letting the motor warm up we headed north to 5 Mile Point for our first stop. Worked the shore line there with no takers and no strikes. Moved west across the lake and north of the mill. Pushed our way back into a pocket at the back of a bay and began hitting water temps in the low 60's. Started to find the bass in 3-5 feet of water just laying off shore. Most fish fell victim to the chatterbait, square bill and senko today. After fishing through the area one time we headed towards Leonards Bay. Again, water temps were consistent from spot to spot but the fishing was not. No fish at Leonards so we again made a move to a rocky shore line on the west side. Here we started picking off the fish pretty regular on secondary, tapering points. By early afternoon the fish had pulled out to 6-8 feet but were still semi active. Water temps were now running 63-64 degrees.

All in all we had a great day. Put well over 30 bass in the boat. We didn't nab any real hogs, but did manage a few 4 and 3 pound class fish all day. One thing that really stuck out today was the number of Gar that we saw. We had to see well over 100 of them in the shallows today. One area in particular was absolutely loaded with them. Here are a few pictures of the fish today.

Nice work with the bass. Water is warming up quickly and the action is picking up. Thanks for the report.
