Sounds like a couple of good Irishman. What I want to know is what did they do with the fish? Catch and release.

Some of the replies to the article show pretty clearly just how little understanding there is out there regarding the sturgeon and the fishery in general.

I'm glad they got what they got.
As for some of the comments...pitiful, as so many of the "regular" BFP commenters are.
Catch and serve with lemon.

I am glad to see that some justice was given to those guys. If it was one of our great judges in NY they might have rec'd a $25 or $50 fine and sent on their way.

Most likely...
I bet the one from Winooski will be at the Hole this summer fishing and won't get caught because I've seen a Warden twice in 4 years...too bad they didn't post pictures I would probably recognize him if he fished the Winooski.

Glad they got fined, but I agree the fines were not steep enough...
