Kudo's to Eagle Lowrance

Post by Surprise »

Some time ago I polled the audience here asking about a refresh issue I was having with my newly installed Eagle Fish Elite 480 that was running Navionics Hotmaps in the GPS.

I tried several things that Eagle/Lowrance suggested and got a new card from Navionics. The Issue was unresolved. Contacted Eagle/Lowrance and they provided me with a RMA to return the unit to them. I it on a Friday and they received it on a Monday. That day they contacted me and said they could replace the unit or provide me with a upgrade to any unit I wanted following their price matrix.

I received and installed last nite a New Lowrance Fish Elite 5 color unit that cost me a C/Note for the upgrade. Lit up perfectly clear and used my on hand software. I consider this a real good deal as I Purchased the Eagle from Gander Mountain on closeout January 3 last year for $230 and a week later they called and said they lowered it to $213 and would credit my card. Best price I've seen so far on the Elite 5 is $449 after rebate.

There is a Santa Claus... :D

Can't wait to wet the boat and give it a try

Both Navionics and Navco had great Customer service and response.

That's refreshing to hear from them. I had it out with them a few years ago after I bought my Lund.

I had forgeten that Navico still had Eagle as a brand...I think of Lowrance and Simrad...

I also remember their years of sh*t customer service...driving many lake fishermen to Humminbird...

From all recent accounts, though, Eagle/Lowrance/Simrad has reinvented themselves...they're now technology leaders, with very credible customer support, finally. Their high-end stuff from the Simrad division is to die for...
will require home-equity loan, assuming anyone even has equity in a home, that is.

Glad to hear they took care of you for a reasonable price.

I had a great experience with Lowrance support in August. I had a HDS-5 still under warranty (2 years) and I was having an issue with the printing of the bait and game fish at all depths. Figured it was the transducer after a myriad of setting changes. They replaced it under warranty and the thing worked again at 100% signal strength. The warranty folks are based out of New Hampshire. I was able to get thru in less than 3 minutes with minimal wait time on the phone. The support person was very positive as I walked them thru my trial and error process with setting changes and the result was my belief it was the transducer.

One thing I learned from this process I learned every tweak and change known to man with this unit. Learned it's function inside and out.

Oh. Simrad. That is the gold standard.
