Re: No fuel/service at PT Bay docks Shoot-Out weekend.

-- PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT -- Serenity Now is berthed at Pt. Bay. I just received an e-mail from the marina manager indicating that this is the last weekend that the service dock will be operating for fuel and pump-outs. This means NO FUEL at the docks for Shoot-Out weekend, so plan accordingly. See everyone there.

This is the same place you/we were last year. Converse launch. It is not a big jaunt around the horn at Thompson's to pull in to Point Bay Marina. Just a coupla miles across and a slightly south of Split Rock.

Or just follow the parade right before 'weigh-in'...

Cas wrote:Hey Mark - you're more than welcome to join me this year. My only plans so far is that I'll be there. While my boat may be a little bigger, it is by no means any better equipped. Probably less equipped, as I don't have a decent GPS unit, I have 2 downriggers just like you, although I'll be able to keep warm during the frost bite season by cranking up my downriggers by hand instead of flipping a switch!

Looking forward to some good fall fishing.
SO trying to figure out a plan. I got a newbie that is interested, and my boat is ready - even has a full gas tank. Downriggers and all the tackle is nicely organized in storage unit (took EVERY bit of tackle out for a "foliage" boat ride a few weeks back and didn't want my date to think I was distracted LOL)

Going to spend the week finding my dang gloves and wind pants which I stored somewhere other than my fishing and hunting armoire :( Why do I do this every year??!

That and I have a new apartment that I can start moving into end-of-week...trying to figure out what to do with my priorities...

Would like to chat though; I am so out of touch with "the game" this year- you still have the number?

The priority should be: 1) Fish 2) Eat fish at your new apartment :)

First year If I remember we had 5 fish from three fishermen entered that qualified.

Last year many, if you remember, asked to have the size increased.
We had three salmon entered that qualified at 20 inches. Out of about 40 boats and estimated 90 fishermen.

"Heaviest 20 inch Landlock Salmon caught within the confines of Lake Champlain gets the trophy."

It's the spirit of the derby and always only the start of the season. I truly wish we could do this in December but Docks are out, boats put away, People off hunting and on and on. There has been suggestion because of the warm water and lack of bite we have a Sudden Death playoff if no fish shows Now in December.

I say: Not every year is there a rack on the barn wall but deer camp is just as fun.

I say if that is the case we put a Big "2011" on the trophy and everyone will remember the year and the BARBECUE and that we all got together as Friends to Celebrate our Love of Sport.

That's my opinion , What's Yours? Randy

For me, the first reason I'll be there it's for the BBQ to meet everyone. 8-)

The second reason is the trophy that I will bring in Canada
