Never fished Champlain for salmon or lakers

Post by Bird33 »

So I’m just getting into trolling and I finally have my boat set up the way I want . Now to find decent sized fish. From New Hampshire and fishing here is slow for Lakers and salmon so I want to make a trip north to Champlain to try for bigger fish. Where is a good spot to launch my 16.5 ft smokercraft . Any help to put me in a good area would be awesome

I would suggest Converse bay launch in Charlotte. Probably one of the most versatile cold water launches in VT.

Best of luck! Let us know how you do...

Be aware that there is a LOT of debris in the water all over the lake right now and the lake level is still above flood stage. I found two kayaks today and a whole wooden dock just below the surface.
