Re: Bananas?!
Someone was very creative making this video! I enjoy taunting my fishing buddies about the banana myth and hearing the drama about people bringing bananas aboard their boats. Oh, And the naming myth of boats is even funnier and that whole process!

Re: Bananas?!
When I worked with guides in Alaska a common sight on motor cowls was a white circle with a banana and a black line through it. It was quite a site to see a banana or bunch of them floating by on a river like the Kenai as you were fishing with clients and they asked what they were.

11.21lb on Datillio's derby scales and 29.5" if my memory serves... It had a hell of a girth carried all the way to her tail... Only salmon I could not wrap hand all way around tail I have ever seen from our lake...
She lives on my wall now, and versions of her should be displayed in DA's house and also the Ed Weed fish hatchery someday...
Looking to break 12lbs this year, there are still 3-5 of em in the lake..

Reelax has been lucky to do 3 in the 7lb class, 2 in the 8lb class one in the 10lb class and this fish you see here over the years. (11.21 is tops so far) Somehow with the help of good fisherman (list toooo long to post) my boat has been very lucky with big salmon. (this is 3 different boats, all named REELAX worth of salmon... And 2 of the 7lber's came on Phantom and Homewrecker to be fair)dry net wrote:WOW! Have you caught any others that approach that size?
I did see Thorny put 3 - 8 lb fish in his boat in a half an hour one day, so I am nothin special! We could only muster 1 8lber that day, but it was a great day and his charter got their $$ worth 3 times over!!
Rob, do you remember that day???
wow what a time that was on the radio......

With all of those big fish coming to the boat I'm surprised that you don't have a video camera rolling to record what must be epic battles.

Re: Bananas?!
I have posted 3 of the videos here. Search for Henrietta and Jaws as they were the 2 biggest. The videos are amateur at best and are on YouTube.dry net wrote:With all of those big fish coming to the boat I'm surprised that you don't have a video camera rolling to record what must be epic battles.

Jaws was in June 2016 And Henrietta was in May of 2017. The battles with these fish were over 20 min each so the videos are of the net sequence only...
