We created a post on February 17th about the Dave Gram Radio Talk Show that was to air on February 18th concerning the closing of the Salisbury Hatchery. Folks had the opportunity to call into the show and voice their opinion. The show didn't have much support from fisher-folks and we'd appreciate if you would take the time to take the poll above. This poll will be active for 10 days.
Please feel free to post any comments.

I was on the road and listened from 10:30-10:50
Re: Dave Gram Radio Talk show/Feb 18 survey
I listened. The show was disjointed because of the announcer's questions and the breaks for commercials. I think only three or four callers were allowed to comment. I'm not sure the show's producer or Dave Gram would have been able to fit in any more callers.
The two Bills (Jacobus and Rasch) who were interviewed did their best to put in perspective what the closing of the Salisbury hatchery would do to trout and salmon fishing in VT along with the economic impact of the closure. One caller, Randy (?) from Vergennes, made the excellent point that many other users of the boat launches (kayakers, canoeists, small trailered sailboats, etc.) should pay their fair share for their use of the launch areas. Of course, if a permit system were implemented for these users, would the revenue help to prevent the Salisbury closure? The only other revenue source mentioned was increasing license fees.
The only positive takeaway from the program is that Gram periodically has Gov. Scott on his program and that he might ask the Governor about the proposed closing/loss of broodstock.
I think we better all continue our letter writing campaign.

I listened and I called.
I held off hoping others from our group would chime in. However I don't think the show drives much policy and is maybe just a sounding board for many issues and gets WDEV advertizing revenue.
Contacting your representatives and voicing to them your feelings as a Voter will have a bigger impact.
Please don't bitch and not act,
to use the words of my father who was a Chef ..."Don't Complain about the food with your mouth full".

I listened to the first show online, but spent more time reconnecting and never would have had time to call in
