Video (Demo) of the Lite Bite Slide diver and TD Fish Hawk
Whalon Bay this am. 9/21/11:
These are unedited videos done today with one take. Viewer beware!
Part 1: Setting up the Lite Bite Slide Diver and sending out with the TD and comparing readings with X-4 Fishhawk probe:
http://s257.photobucket.com/albums/hh20 ... 0169-1.mp4
Part 2: Reeling it in and checking the depths and temps:
http://s257.photobucket.com/albums/hh20 ... 0171-1.mp4
Disclaimer or damage control:
We had lots of glare with shadow's at the very end of video 2 when the camera panned in on the X-4 display. Here is a still shot I was talking about at the probe at 55 feet and 56.5 degrees and the Slide diver at 45 feet was 57.1 degrees. Had I used the wonderful blue backlight on the X-4 display and turned it on it would have removed the shadows.

Thanks Ron! The fish hawk is sweet for sure.
Btw, it was nice meeting you last Wednesday. My rewire worked and my Terrova is 100% now.
You and Jim seemed to really care about the customer.

Well done, Ron. Interesting temps at Whallons, compared to what we've been seeing in the Burl area. Yesterdays CTD showed surface to 100' at 64F with little variation. Makes sense with the strong S winds we've had. A prime example of upwelling.

Ron - that's great stuff, thanks for taking the time to put that up here. Looks like I have another toy to add next year to go with the new X4.

Ron, I do not seem to be able to open your videos.
It is opening Photobucket but says it requires Flash. I installed it, but getting the same message..
Any suggestion? I want to see those videos and learn.

Ron, great video and demo! You are a real asset for all the Salmon fishing folks here.
Popster, we saw the 64.xF constant to 100' last Saturday at Whallons as did other people fishing down there from the chatter. So now that they've seen a change, maybe it's only a matter of time for it to hit farther north.

By going to plan B and doing the filming down in Whalon's it turned into a good thing as we had a near perfect temp. profile down to 45 feet and 130 feet of wire out on the Lite Bite Slide Diver. That was our good luck of the day. Upwellings are pretty cool ain't they Bill!
Gerry,
Ludo might have an answer. Sorry I can't help with the technical stuff. Seemed like the flash download was the ticket. Others here seem to be ok so far. Is there another computer you can try Gerry?

Very good Ron!!
Re: Video (Demo) of the Lite Bite Slide diver and TD Fish Ha
It's working from home. I think you should put the video on a Youtube account. I can create an account for LCU and put all the useful video related to fishing or Lake Champlain here.Digitroll (Ron) wrote: Gerry,

Ludo,
That is a good suggestion about using You Tube for us here. Charting new waters with the video thing and using photobucket and a link isn't as good as You Tube. Thanks!
I also realized had I used the wonderful blue blackground light on the X-4 display it would have show up very nicely in the shadows at the end of the video.
Live and learn.

Excellent stuff Ron.
When the TD hit it's max depth...was there an icon or indicator that showed that was it's deepest?

Yup, Couldn't see it in the video, but up in the right hand corner the word "Max" appears at the deepest point or last frame toggled.
Setting on Lite Bite was a 4 near the end of the weight.

Got a fishhawk TD for my birthday back in june and have yet to get a float in to try it...jeeze.
Fall hours are coming in a couple weeks though and should then be able to get "on the pond" .

Re: Video (Demo) of the Lite Bite Slide diver and TD Fish Ha
Is it just a heavy duty pinch pad that's keeping the probe attached to the lite bite? For a pricey piece of equipment, I'd like to have it a little more securely attached?
Nice job with the video, had heard lots of talk about them, nice to see how it works.

Just to secure maybe you can add a piece of braid line with a swivel?
