2-3" seems to be a choice of salmon fisherman, but I've seen nice salmon on longer spoons.

Of the three sizes, the 2 1/4 seems best. :D

2.25" would probably have the best results.

2 3/8 & 2 5/8 inch when my target species is salmon

3 3/4 to 5 inch plus when targeting lakers

I have caught both species on either size spoons. The smaller spoons I use for salmon catch lakers as well so I tend to run smaller spoons when fishing for suspended fish. I will in late spring/early summer run bigger spoons when targeting suspended fish. When rubbing bottom I run the the bigger size spoons.
Salmon, the other pink meat.

My largest salmon (over 8#) came on a Honeybee MP6. They're about 2.5"

Gotta agree, the salmon in my avatar is well over 7lbs and it came on a size 3 bee. I also got 2 others ones that day both around 5 lbs all on the same spoon.

I would have to agree with Champlain fisher & Salmon eye. I had a day this summer that I was working fish down about 45 ft & a Black & copper Dreamweaver (about the size of a sutton 44) was on fire! Took 8 of the 15 fish we caught! A week later the fish were in small bait (young of the year smelt) & a 2&1/4" Needlefish was hot! As with any day....experiment & let the fish tell you what they want!

Thanks All...

So far I used my 3.75" in lake Champlain. The same inventory that I have used on lake Ontario. I seriously think it's too big for the size of trout & salmon commonly caught in lake Champlain. Will need a new inventory.
