GREAT NEWS FOR SALMON

I just talked to Capt Rich Greenough he talked to bioligist today as of Sept 16th they lifted 49 Salmon on the Winooski river at this rate they exspect to lift over 1000. last year for the season I believe it was 131 this is great news.

That is great news indeed! Seems it's a month early to have the fish lift in action. Cool!

I sure hope that this is an indicator of how hot the salmon action will be in the coming weeks.. I can't wait for it to begin... :)

This is great news and I think you'll continue to see the numbers in the rivers rise. It's certainly a result of having more mature fish in the population. Couple that with the heavy flows during fall of the last few years and you have perfect conditions for bringing those fish up. Fish on!

Please excuse my igorance but what does it mean when some one says "they lifted salmon"? Are they counting them as they go up a ladder?

I saw one taken out of the lift today. Cool thing everyone should check out. The salmon was one anyone would be braaging about. I'll bet a solid 4 to 5 pounds. Very healthy fish. I should have shot a photo. Ken

I fish the boquet out of willsboro it has been bad the last few years hope it also gets better
