Salmon Seminar

Post by digitroll (ron) »

Guys,

This is premature, but, I am curious how many people would be interested having some of the Lake Michigan / Ontario guys come here to do a Great Lakes salmon seminar?

Dan Keating who has several books and videos on Great Lakes salmon fishing fame I sent an email to this morning. I went to one of his seminars back 8 years ago in Saratoga, NY. Two other major presenters that day were Capt. Chip Porter and the Fishdoctor Capt. Ernie. It was an incredible presentation at the Holiday Inn and one I will never forget.

It would be a pay to participate event ($50).

Lets show those guys here some support with this thread and I can send this thread via link to Dan in an email.

Ron, I would be very interested.... Thanks for looking into this... If we could schedule it before or after a spoon taping workshop we may be able to increase the attendance, as travelers come here for those sessions too..

We may be interested if it's an educational session. Given how much time we've invested, some more education is a good thing. And the great lakes are the lakes of my youth! Assume this would be an evening event.

There are an incredible number of similarities between all salmon. The size and frequency of Atlantics being caught along the south shore of Ontario by experienced charter capts is proof of that.

Capt. Dan Keating and Great Lakes Editor, Dave Mull have, developed a presentation, books and videos that are extremely informative. Even long time King fishermen are impressed by the "new" information that can be learned at these sessions.

I went to one here about two years ago and was very pleased. It would be great to support Digitrol's effort and help pull this off. The application to your Champlain fishery will overwhelm the attentive members of the audience. / Jim

It would be great if it wasn't too far over my head. I need to nail down the basics before I get involved in the advanced stuff like actually catching something. Just kidding. I'd go and grab whatever knowledge I could.
Please put me down for 2. I couldn't keep my wife away from a fishing seminar.
Great idea.
