Yes.. a poll is a great idea.

Personnally, I do not mind either option as they both have pros and cons.
I joined the other forum because someone suggested me the site, and I enjoyed the reports I saw.... but I am also doing my share by contributing to the reports....

Gentleman, Gentleman........ you have all heard the saying "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink". Post away, share all that you wish to share and learn all you can from each other and most of all don't worry about the so called "Seagulls". They can buy all the gear and fish in all the posted spots, but without solid fishing knowhow...... they will be pushing fish over to your boat!! :D This is not like trying to protect a "Secret spot". Champlain is a recognized quality fishery. The 80/20 rule will almost always apply except when conditions are at their peak...... and we all know color, speed, depth aside people are going to catch fish then, but you guys are gonna catch a "SHIT LOAD OF FISH"

More energy spent fishing.... less energy spent worrying about the other guys ;)

Well said Fishcrazy. The guys that started this site had a plan and they should do whatever feels right. It's free to register and only takes a minute. Understanding the regs. and following them means being able to remain a member. Very simple decision.

The plan of the site: make the best site about Lake Champlain.

The plan of the forum: make the best forum about Lake Champlain.

We don't know what is the best for you, it's why we will continue to ask :)

That's right guys...someday the forum will only be a part of the proposed fishing site called Lake Champlain United.
Look up...look at the URL. There's "/forums" AFTER the main domain name. :ugeek:

Either way you're off to a great start.

Seems to me if you want to grow and help others get interested in the lake, anyone who wants should be able to read reports. its like advertising , if you don't shown your project our build your showroom, who will come. I can't understand why anyone would object to an unregistered reader , reading this forum. What harm is there in that? What is lost? Everything to gain to allow readers.

I think by needing to sign up to the forum to see reports it may get more serious "seagullers" to actually do a post. On the LOU site you need to sign up and they have tons of members. If you want the information it is there and all you ahve to do is sign up. It is not much to ask of someone.

Just my thoughts.

LOCKED for admin decision

I counted up "votes".
I came up with 9 members say to open the reports to non-members
9 members say leave it closed to non-members
6 members go either way or have offered other suggestions
