2012 taping

Post by Gray Ghost »

It’s this time of the year_____lure taping time. Been stripping old lures (recycling), putting a new face on some old metal and sprucing up some lures with added tape for 2012. Check out the bottom of the Gallery for 2012 taping.

Yes and No. I took yellow tape and a sponge (from the wife) and dab green Sharpie felt tip on to the side of the sponge, dab the sponge on the tape, then clear coated with Rust-Oleum “crystal clear enamel”

I've been looking at that mottled green for several years, don't know if it catches and fish, but looks sexy.

I don't know, I have not had any trouble with it. I spray the lure holding the spray can 18" from the lure. The lure is hanging vertical. The spray, is one that my wife was using when she was into Toll painting. I don't have a lot of experience spraying lure, but those that I have sprayed, no problems.

GrayGhost,
Nice gallery! You've certainly spent some time in taping and painting and putting together your gallery. Thanks for sharing. I think # 20 of the 2012 collection is a fish catcher Simple but a nice combo! Also like the explanation of how you came up with the mottled green. I have carried a bunch of different colored sharpies in my box for many years and use the sharpies as much as I do tape. Will have to try some mottling. Thanks for the tip!
