never trolled flys much, what size dodger do you guys run in front? Do you run strictly dodgers or do you run some sort of rotator ? Any advice appreciated.

I have had tons of success using a red coyote 8" with 18 inches of leader about 10lb flouro, going to Joe's smelt or and alewife pattern fly. When I get desperate I use it.
Speeds I use are just under 3mph. Never higher, my best luck has been using it while slowing down and it does the dodger movement. Not quite spinning but yawing. Makes them commit I've noticed.
I only run it maybe 15ft behind my downrigger weight because you inevitably get line twist from the spinning.
That flasher I use works real well behind a slide diver too. Just don't put your line into the trip arm. That combo has boated me plenty of dinners and a few fish worthy of conversation.
I'm sure some seasoned salmon trollers will give you some better advice on here.
