Hey folks, just a quick Florida tease. No ice here, but until this week, it's been cool. Caught some spotted sea trout today and a ladyfish. Nothing huge, but one trot was a keeper. Pics are tough in the kayak. Big bellies are tough in the kayak. Fun day!

That is funny Jeff, cause we will be down exactly to that area in 4 weeks. We stay in weekiwachi just to the south but go to fish the crystal river sometimes... some of the best manatee action anywhere! Props up and lines out!

Thanks for the post

We're actually staying on the Homosossa River in Homossa. 1/4 mile from the Freezer. When the Manatees crowd up in the head waters of the rivers, the guides hate it, because they can only maintain head speed until you make the Gulf. More time riding than fishing.

I see you made it to the mermaid show... Next you should visit the eagles nest sink...

Eagle’s Nest Sinkhole, Florida from The 11 Most Dangerous ...
http://www.theactivetimes.com/content/11-most-dangerous...
The Eagle’s nest has good visibility and wide entryways. Still, this sinkhole is only for advanced divers. About 300 feet deep – some spots even go as deep as 1,035 feet – it has to be approached with extreme caution. Common mistakes people make is not descending and ascending really, really slowly. Nitrogen narcosis is a realistic possibility.

They have had many divers not make it out, but it is a really fun place to swim on a hot day...
(if you can find it out in the wilderness)

We did a bass trip today with Captain Mick Maynard on the Harris Chain of Lakes . Bass were a little slow, with a few decent fish caught, but I was happy to get my first gar.

The gars are spawning where the mud and weekiwachi rivers meet about mile up stream from the ocean just above Bayport. Did you use rope flies? They breach surface and can be over 6ft long. True dinosaurs.. never been able to get one to boat...
