OC Bridge 50

Post by Gecha (Gerry) »

Last evening fished from 7 to 8:30 pm tossing 5" plastic mullets under the route 59 bridge in incoming time.
Caught 2 bluefish and 4 stripers, all released.
They are not easy to catch, as you have to control the boat near the bridge pilings, fight the tide, and cast the lure at the right place so it does not snag on the pilings or bottom.
It you get it right, and with some luck, you get the reward.

Summer is definitely here. It's been VERY hot.
Lot's of boat traffic yesterday, and great fireworks last night.
You can review this week's edition (or any previous versions) of local newspaper Coastal Fisherman.

So many species so little time!!! Typically have a couple salties under my belt by now but have been hounding eyes! Love fighting them door mats on light gear! Plus nothing better than a "sea flea" (Hemingway) or blue smashing a swim bait!
